On average it costs us $350.00 to vaccinate, heartworm test, fecal test and spay or neuter one of our rescued dogs. This does not include any treatments for illnesses such as parasites, fleas, mange, heartworm, parvo, kennel cough, or pneumonia. Our vet bills for a sick dog can run anywhere from $500.00 to $ 1,000.00 easily.

Any of our dogs that go into boarding facilities due to our limited foster space, cost on average $300.00 a month. Many of our dogs live with trainers to get formal obedience training and socialization and on average that costs us $400.00 a month.

We do not begin to recover the investment we make in the health and well-being of our rescued dogs from our typical $100.00 to $150.00 adoption fees.
